The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly influenced the education sector, including elementary education. The integration of AI has the potential to improve learning processes, assessment systems, and educational management. However, the successful implementation of AI in schools depends not only on technological infrastructure but also on the organizational readiness of schools to adapt to technological changes. Many elementary schools still face challenges such as limited teacher understanding of AI, uncertainty toward technological innovation, and the absence of clear institutional policies supporting the use of new technologies.
Previous studies on Artificial Intelligence in education mainly focus on technological applications and digital learning systems. Limited research has examined the role of school organizational change management in shaping school readiness for AI implementation, particularly at the elementary education level.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The research was conducted in Public Elementary Schools 12, 20, and 27 in Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency. Data were collected from teachers and school principals through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing with SPSS.
The results indicate that school organizational change management has a positive and significant influence on school readiness to implement Artificial Intelligence technology. Change leadership by school principals, organizational support and training for teachers, and effective management of resistance to change contribute to building positive attitudes and readiness toward technological innovation.
Effective organizational change management plays an important role in strengthening schools’ readiness to adopt Artificial Intelligence technology. Strengthening leadership, training, and change management strategies is essential to support sustainable technological transformation in elementary education.
