Abstract

This community service aims to increase patient and family knowledge about the prevention of nosocomial infections in hospitals. The activity was carried out through health counseling with interactive lectures, discussions, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. The implementation took place on March 9, 2026 at Gunung Maria Tomohon Hospital with the involvement of 34 participants consisting of patients and families. The material includes definition, risk factors, methods of transmission, and efforts to prevent nosocomial infections. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge of participants after counseling. The implication of this activity is the importance of ongoing education to support the active role of patients and families in preventing infections in the hospital environment.
