The Role of Pastoral Assistance in Facilitating the Spiritual Growth of the Church

Abstract

This study aims to identify how pastoral counseling and spiritual mentoring contribute to congregational engagement in spiritual disciplines, as well as explore the challenges faced in the implementation of community-based discipleship. The method used is a qualitative approach, with literature study techniques and interviews with church leaders and congregations involved in discipleship. The results of the study show that congregations that receive pastoral assistance have more faith resilience, experience spiritual recovery, and are more active in the church community. The main influencing factors are the consistency of mentoring, community involvement, and the support of spiritual leaders. As a recommendation, the church needs to strengthen its pastoral-based discipleship strategy, develop a more structured mentoring system, and adapt discipleship methods to the challenges of the times.
